FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

q1

Do I need a full motorcycle licence to take part in one of your off-road motorcycle adventure tours in the UK or Southern Spain?

a

Our tours are run on what are commonly known as Green Lanes, which are unsurfaced roads. We also ride on country lanes between many sections too, so yes, a motorcycle licence is required on our tours in the UK and southern Spain.

q1a

Do I need a full motorcycle licence to take part in one of your off-road motorcycle schools or race experience days?

a1

No you do not need a motorcycle licence for our schools or race experience days because they take part on private facilities.

q1b

Do you have any restrictions on who can participate?

a2

On our guided off road tours in the UK and Spain you must be aged 25 or over unless you are prepared to pay a £20 insurance premium per day for riders aged 21-24. On our race experience days there is no restriction but we do not cater for children who require 'mini-bikes'. The minimum height is 5ft and maximum weight of 20 stone and you should be of a reasonable fitness level with no ailments that may affect your ability to ride a motorcycle.

q1b1

Should I bring anything with me on my UK off-road experience?

a2a

A few pounds for your lunch is a good idea. It would be wise to bring along some dry socks and underwear! If you have some lightweight waterproofs bring those too if the weather looks a bit dodgy - the enduro clothing we supply will protect you against showers but not water crossings and heavy rain! Sealable freezer bags are excellent for storing your mobile phone. If you are taking part in a tour then you must bring your motorcycle licence.

q1b2

Should I bring anything with me while riding on my Spanish off-road experience?

a2b

You must bring your motorcycle licence and a minimum of an EHIC card for medical cover. We would highly advise taking out medical insurance that covers motor sports and repatriation.

q1b3

I have been riding a road bike for years and see myself as a very experienced rider but have not ridden off-road, can I take part in one of your intermediate or expert level tours?

a2c

No, we would frown upon this. Off-road riding is completely different and the term 'novice' applies to people like yourself. Yours and other participants safety is of utmost importance. You would enjoy yourself much more on one of our tours that are tailored to the off-road novice.

q1b4

I have lots of off-road experience but just fancy a relaxed jaunt around the countryside - can I take part in your more novice orientated tours?

a2d

Of course you can, you are more than welcome but just do not expect the tour to be run at an experts pace!

q1b4a

What happens if I fall off and wreck the motorcycle?

a2d1

This is most unlikely if you are acting responsibly, but in the unfortunate event of bending the handlebars or smashing a headlight etc, we would charge you at trade prices. Think of it like borrowing you mates bike - if you broke something you would get it sorted for them. We don't worry about general knocks and scratches - they are dirtbikes. You can protect yourself against damages up to £250 by taking out our £20 per day breakage insurance. Damages over £250 will have to be paid for though! The bikes are pretty tough so don't break easily.

q1b4b

What happens if I act like an idiot?

a2d2

You will be politley asked to act responibly. If this is not heeded you run the risk of your day ending with no refund. Primarily this if for the safety and protection of others.

q1b4b1

What happens if I cancel?

a2d2a

If you cancel 21 days before the date of your off-road experience you will just lose your deposit. We will of course do all we can to move your riding date if you prefer. If you cancel between 7 and 14 days before your tour we will refund 50% (less deposit) of your tour. If you cancel a week before your tour we are unable to refund but may, at our discretion, allow you to rearrange your tour for a later date with no penalty.

q1b4c

What happens if I don't turn up on the day?

a2d3

You will lose all monies paid to TrailWorld Limited.

q1b4c1

I have a three day tour booked in Spain, but am too tired to ride on the third day, can I have a refund?

a2d3a

I am sure that you will understand that this is not possible - think of it in the same way as you hiring a car. If you had it for a week but only drove for 3 of those days the hire company would not refund the days you did not drive!

q1b4c2

What happens if I hurt myself and can not complete all of my riding days?

a2d3b

Unfortunately this is similar to the question above. If you are worried about this then you could take out holiday insurance that covers this.

q1b4c3

Can I pay on the day?

a2d3c

The only way we can accept payment on the day is in cash. If you wish to pay via cheque or credit card you must do so 14 day before your UK date or 21 days before your Spanish date.
