If you have ever watched a motorcycle trials competition, or remember 'Kick Start' on television, you will have been amazed at people riding over logs, lifting the front wheel in the air onto an obstacle and even riding down stairs. It's all about balance and bike control (and a bit of courage!), and the good news is that you can have a go at it too!
About the School
Our trials bike riding schools are a great introduction to the amazing world of hopping, jumping, balancing and generally showing your bike agility off. At the end of the day you will go away with techniques that will not only impress your friends, but will also improve your road riding skills enormously.
Our Level 1 Trials Bike Riding School is aimed at the newcomer to the sport, or those just looking for a fun day out on an off-road motorcycle. We start you off with the basics of clutch, throttle and brake controls and then move on to body positioning, weighting the foot-pegs to steer and a whole host of other things that will prepare you for the challenges ahead - including popping the front wheel up using your legs as springs!
Once we have completed all of the modules we will have a mini trials competition in the afternoon where you can put together all of the skills that you have learnt throughout the day. The winner will be presented with a trophy as bragging rights and everyone will receive a certificate.
The whole day is spent with the bikes - no classrooms here! The emphasis is on learning in a fun, relaxed environment with plenty of banter (usually at your tutors expense!). No motorcycle licence is required and everyone over 16 is welcome to take part as long as they have a basic knowledge of operating a geared motorcycle. The bikes are suitable for everyone, male and female alike as they are very light (around 70 kilos) and low to the ground. Each participant is allocated their own trials bike for the duration of the day.

Facilities at our Site
We have a dedicated customer reception suite where customers can chill out watching DVD's of all the action from our activity centre or sit out in the sun on our large decking area. We have a small 'tuck shop' where you can purchase cold drinks, crisps and chocolate.
We also have conference facilities, function suite, a purpose built covered BBQ area, toilets and a cafe on site which makes it the ideal venue for the corporate and public sectors alike.
Spectators
Our schools are run over quite a large area of off-road terrain which makes spectating very difficult. For those who really would like to watch all the action we can offer a spectator package for up to 3 people for £250. This will include being looked after by one of our staff for the day and ferried around the facility in one of our 4x4's.
The member of staff looking after you will take professional grade photographs which will be supplied to you on CD/DVD at the end of the day, and you will also be driven around our superb 4x4 circuit as an added bonus.
This MUST be booked in advance. Spectators that have not taken this option will be restricted to the customer signing in and decking area - in this case you will only get to see the mornings action from a distance and will not be able to view any of the action in the afternoon. Spectators are not allowed to wander around the facility for safety reasons.
Restrictions
No motorcycle licence is required for our school, but you must be aged 16 or over and have a basic knowledge of riding a geared motorcycle. We would also like to point out that this is quite a physical activity and not suitable for people with physical disabilities or over 18 stone.
