TOUR NOTES

Suitable for novice off-road riders upwards.

Runs most days.

Voucher valid for 12 months from purchase date.

A full motorcycle licence is required for this tour.

Riders under 25 years of age will have to pay an insurance surchage of £20 on the day.

You can upgrade (subject to availability) to a full enduro bike (250cc) for an extra £20 on the day if required.

Breakages are charged at trade cost - don't worry about scuffs and scratches - they are off-road bikes after all. You can insure yourself for damages up to £250 by paying a £20 fee on the day.

If you are just discovering the joys of off-road motorcycling or are looking for a relaxed introduction to getting your tyres dirty then we feel that this tour is absolutely ideal.

As with all of our UK tours, the use of one of our motorcycles, all protective armour, clothing, fuel and third party motorcycle insurance is provided as standard along with the company of one of our friendly, experienced guides.

What does the day include?

We usually meet up at around 9.15am in St Albans where you will be kitted out, introduced to the motorcycles and given a briefing about what to expect during the course of the day as well as a chat about safety - we pride ourselves on giving all of our clients a day to remember in a safe, friendly atmosphere! Once everyone is happy to proceed the tour will begin. There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the day for catching your breath or to take those all important photographs for the family album! We stop for lunch (not included) at a local Inn or cafe for around an hour before taking to the trails again for a finish between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.

What sort of terrain will we encounter?

This tour is quite easy going but has plenty of challenges along the way making it ideal for road riders wishing to try their hands at off-road motorcycle trail riding. You will encounter woodland, scrub, gravel, mud, ruts and perhaps even a water crossing or two if you dare! There are also some climbs and decents in places, but nothing that will scare the living daylights out of you! In the winter months it is not uncommon to even encounter some snow!

Will I receive tuition?

We do not run our trail tours as a school, but our guides are always on hand to give helpful and friendly advice and show you how to tackle certain objectives. We want you to get the most possible out of your tour with us and to gain confidence during the day so any questions or tips that you would like answered will be greeted with enthusiasm. You will be suprised just how much your road riding will improve after a day on the dirt with us! At the end of the day we want you to come back for more - perhaps on one of our other tours - even in Spain!

What type of motorcycle will I be riding?

The standard bike for this tour is the Honda CRF230 which is absolutely ideal for those that are new to the world of off-road motorcycling. The seat hieght is lower than that of many full-on enduro bikes and has a user friendly power delivery.

If you would like to upgrade to a Yamaha WR250F (or equivalent) you can do so at an extra charge of £20 - subject to availability.

Is there anything else that I should know?

We would advise that you bring along some warm underclothing and a dry towel if the weather is looking bleak! It is also useful to carry a rucksack with a bottle of water and a small amount of money for lunch.

None of our tours are to be treated like an enduro race and we ask all clients to respect the environments in which we ride for the benefit of future riders.
